I absolutely love starting my day with this latte, which I now proudly call my lazy latte. This really is the classic “phitti hui coffee” popular in Pakistan that has now been usurped under the wave of those “Dalgona coffee enthusiasts.” psstt. But I have to give credit where credit is due. My love for phitti coffee was reignited because of the Dalgona trend.
How is this different from Dalgona?
Dalgona became popular through Tiktok. I like to describe Dalgona as phitti hui coffee on steroids. Dalgona had people getting out their whisk to beat the coffee REALLY fluffy. And you can certainly get your whisk out. But truthfully, I only make 1 cup and I find the extra effort a bit much for my morning routine. So the regular old phitti hui coffee will do.
Do I need to microwave the coffee?
Now nuking the coffee may not be everyone’s thing but it truly works and takes your regular coffee and transforms it into a latte! The froth is incredible; you can see it in action below. The hint of cardamom is so refreshing in this phitti hui latte; my Instagram followers who have tried this have loved this magical ingredient. I hope you give this a try!
