About Homemade Taco Seasoning
If you follow my blog, you know that our diet is vegetarian and without onion and garlic. So for us, it is a must to prepare some of the spices and seasonings at home as they are hard to find without onion and garlic. And not only that but I also like to make certain spices at home, because I can make them as per my preferences. Also, making them home means we can have fresh seasoning, and they are preservative-free. We can make Homemade Taco Seasoning in a big batch and store it in a cool and dry place. We can also keep it in the freezer for a more extended period of time. I use this taco seasoning in vegetarian tacos, bean burritos, Mexican-style lasagna, bean salads, taco salads, and many other dishes.
Ingredients
How To Make Homemade Taco Seasoning
Combine all the ingredients into a blending jar. Pulse it only for a few seconds until everything is well combined. Do not blend into a fine powder. I like to use a blender, so everything combines well. But instead of using a blender, you can simply add all the ingredients into a small jar, cover, and shake until everything is combined.
Store the homemade taco seasoning in an air-tight container. It keeps well for up to six months and in the fridge for a year.
Helpful Tips
2 tablespoon of homemade taco seasoning is equivalent to one packet of store-bought taco seasoning. For the sugar-free and low-carb taco seasoning, leave out sugar and cornstarch. You can use this taco seasoning in bean burritos, burrito bowls, tacos, taco salads, bean salads, or many other Mexican fusion dishes.
