I don’t think you will find anybody who does not like chocolate (exception is my Mom, yes, she does not like dark or milk chocolate, only white chocolate, I have no idea why)!! I can have them anytime; there was a time when I used to eat a whole bags of peanut M&Ms; I know, not a healthy habit, but I just could not stop!! Now pairing chocolate with peanut flavor in a no-bake bar and eggless or egg free to boot; I had to make these when I came across them online here. You will always find peanut butter, especially the crunchy kind, in my pantry all the time, (I love peanut butter jelly sandwiches for breakfast). Chocolate bars are easily available in stores and I always keep them in my pantry to make filled chocolates or almond chocolates.
So with just a few ingredients which I already had, no one could stop me from making this easy version of chocolate peanut butter bars!! No baking involved and no beater needed. Just 4 ingredients: Butter, chocolate, peanut butter and biscuits or cookies!! The original recipe called for graham cracker crumbs. I did not have any so I used what I had: Marie Light Oat Biscuits!! Healthy oats in the biscuits makes me feel like it offsets the guilt of eating chocolates!! I prefer using crunchy peanut butter, so you will see bits of peanuts in the cookies!!! The hardest part was waiting for them to set in the refrigerator before biting into them!! I have attempted to make a trial video of my photographs while making these to-die-for cookie bars!! Hope you like it 🙂 So if you and your family love chocolates, please do try them; just mix the marie biscuit crumbs with butter and peanut butter, layer in a pan, top with melted chocolate and peanut butter and swirl with a knife, chill and be ready to dig into them for a heavenly to die for combination of chocolate and peanut butter!!
Note:
For the bottom layer: 30 Marie Oats Biscuits (or any other sweet biscuit; about 200 gms) 1/3 cup melted unsalted butter ½ cup crunchy peanut butter For the top layer: 200 gms of dark chocolate 2 tablespoons crunchy peanut butter For the marbled effect: 2 tablespoons peanut butter
Instructions
Serve chilled but serving them at room temperature is also ok, although they may become a bit soft. These amazing bars can be frozen (if you have any leftovers). You can make them using milk chocolate or even white chocolate and if you do not like crunchy variety of peanut butter, use the creamy kind. Do not try to cut these as soon as you remove from the refrigerator; the chocolate layer will crack!! Wait for at least 10 to 15 minutes at room temperature before attempting to cut. By the way, these looked so scrumptious and heavenly, my mother could not resist trying them out and she loved it!! She prefers white chocolate, so the next time I make these, they will be with white chocolate!!!!
