About Strawberry Milkshake
I love the strawberries, and they are one of my favorites to make different recipes with. To be honest, rather than having them as it is, I like to use strawberries with other ingredients. And it’s amazing that with berries, we can create totally diverse dishes. Like we can use strawberries to make healthy smoothies to decadent desserts. We love strawberries in smoothies and milkshakes. And this milkshake is our family favorite. It’s not that we drink this ice cream-based milkshake often, but I like to pamper my family and myself with this delicious milkshake once in a while.😉
Ingredients
Strawberries: I will recommend using fresh and ripe strawberries. We can use frozen strawberries, but it will be hard to blend them down. Also, frozen strawberries will not easily incorporate with ice cream. However, if you use frozen strawberries, blend the strawberries first with a little bit of milk, and then add the rest of the ingredients. Blend again until everything is well combined. Vanilla Bean Ice Cream: Because this milkshake is formed with the base of the ice cream, make sure to use good quality and real vanilla ice cream. You will taste the ice cream in this milkshake, so also use the one that is your favorite. Milk: I will recommend using whole milk for the creamy milkshake. However, you can also use 2% milk but do not use fat-free milk. Vanilla Extract: It provides a sweet flavor to the milkshake and gives a professional touch to your homemade strawberry milkshake. However, it is optional, and you can skip it if you don’t have it on hand.
Step by Step Directions
Wash the strawberries with water and allow them to completely dry. Then hull and slice the strawberries in half.
Add sliced strawberries, milk, ice cream, and vanilla into the blender.
Blend for few seconds or until everything is well combined. If you are using a small blender, blend into two parts. Do not over-blend; otherwise, it will thin out the milkshake.
Pour the milkshake into glasses and serve chilled. Serve it as it is or with the toppings of your desire.
Helpful Tips
For Extra Thick Milkshake: If you prefer an extra thick and creamy milkshake, reduce the amount of milk to ½ cup and increase the quantity of ice cream. Making Thin Milkshake: To make this milkshake thinner, add a handful of ice cubes. Or reduce the amount of ice cream and add more milk. Using Frozen Strawberries: If you want to use frozen strawberries, first blend strawberries with a little bit of milk for few seconds. Then add the rest of the ingredients and blend. Adding Sugar: If your strawberries are not too sweet or you decide to add more milk, add 1-2 tablespoon of sugar to make the milkshake perfectly sweet.
Variations
Use Strawberry Ice cream: For the rich and extra strawberry flavor, use real strawberry ice cream instead of vanilla ice cream. Add-ins: Add chopped strawberries after making a milkshake. Or add freeze-dried strawberry powder. Toppings: Top the strawberry milkshake with chocolate shavings or curls. Or add a big swirl of whipped cream on the top of your strawberry milkshake. You can also top it with thin strawberry slices or add an extra scoop of ice cream.
